Master Colorist

Apart from Henri Matisse, Yves Saint Laurent holds the distinction as the 20th-century's greatest colorist. Like Verlaine, Rimbaud, and Baudelaire before him, Yves drew heavily on the Romantic image of him as a tortured, suffering artiste in his haute couture masterpieces.
