Newly-discovered gem from Broadway diva Patti LuPone is the newly-released CD, Patti LuPone at Les Mouches. Recorded live in 1980 at the nightclub Les Mouches in New York City, the notoriously idiosyncratic singer was captured at the peak of her career, during Evita, to be exact. A time when her legendarily lazy diction was still decipherable. The sound quality is superb, too; clear and crisp, as if Patti were singing in front of you. My favorite track? "Meadowlark."
